While many enjoyed a typical day today, the residents of Lauri and Serthi had something special to look forward to as the Managing Director and his team from Druk Green Power Corporation visited their locality to consult on the eagerly anticipated 90 MW Jomori Hydropower Project.
Headed by Dzongdag, officials from the Dzongkhag, Drungkhag and Gewog, attended this momentous consultation meeting which took place at the Lauri GYT Hall. This marked a significant step towards ending the woes of irregular electricity supply in the region.
Druk Green Power Corporation has successfully completed the feasibility study for the Jomori Hydropower Project. Currently, they are working on obtaining the necessary NOCs and clearances from relevant stakeholders.
For Lauri and Serthi, this project represents a beacon of hope, promising a future of consistent and reliable electricity. As progress unfolds, these communities eagerly anticipate the day when power irregularities will become a distant memory.
