The Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag observed World Rabies Day today with a strong commitment to the theme "Breaking Rabies Boundaries". The event took place at the DT Hall, bringing together participants from the Dzongkhag Administration, Thromde Administration, regional offices, and local schools.
The event was coordinated by the Dzongkhag Livestock Sector and Dzongkhag Health Sector, in collaboration with relevant regional offices, demonstrating the commitment of various sectors to combat rabies through collective action.
The program featured an awareness and advocacy session, focusing on the importance of rabies prevention and control in the region. Participants were briefed on key measures to prevent the spread of the disease, with particular emphasis on the significance of vaccination for both humans and animals. The session also highlighted the role of community engagement and collaboration in eradicating rabies.
