A promising new chapter for rural youth and farmers of Serthi Gewog began today with the launch of the Integrated Agri-Business Creation Training. The program was officially opened by the Drungpa of Jomotsangkha Drungkhag, who encouraged all 30 participants to “participate wisely” and reminded them that “opportunity has knocked right at your door.”
This visionary initiative, inspired by the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, is being jointly implemented by key agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment — including DoEE, DAMC, NPHC, Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector, and the Gewog Administration. Over the next two weeks, participants will be trained in:
Mushroom cultivation (Shiitake & Oyster)
Post-harvest techniques & pickling
Business creation and entrepreneurship through a dedicated bootcamp
The training is not just about learning—it’s about building sustainable livelihoods, creating rural enterprises, and transforming the local economy from the ground up.
