Dzongdag graced the closing ceremony of the 14-day zero- waste craft training at Jomotsangkha town this morning at nine. Joining Dzongdag were Drungpa, Gups, Mangmi, and relevant heads of the Dzongkhag. Twenty participants took part in this training, aimed at empowering women and reducing waste at the household level.
Dzongdag congratulated the participants and advised them to continue crafting reusable baskets and bags from waste materials as an economic means and a contribution to society. Some participants expressed gratitude for Dasho's leadership in initiating such an impactful program at the household level and thanked the funders for providing them with skills that will empower them and contribute to household income.
The zero waste craft training was funded by the Department of Tourism under the GEF Ecotourism Project, proposed and implemented by the Dzongkhag Administration in collaboration with the Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative and Langchenphu Gewog Administration.
