Eight days of training for enumerators began at Mountain Hotel in Samdrup Jongkhar.
Around twenty-four enumerators from Samdrup Jongkhar and Pemagatshel are attending eight days of training to conduct Living Standard Survey.
Living Standard Survey is a regular activity of the National Statistics Bureau which is conducted every five years. It is designed to collect socio-economic information/data such as consumption expenditure, information on housing, education, health status, fertility, access to public facilities, and assets ownership.
The collected information/data will be used to assess people's well-being and to construct a comprehensive poverty profile for the country.
Dasho Dzongda of the Dzongkhag Administration graced the opening ceremony of the training yesterday.
Dasho, in her opening ceremony speech, said that such a survey is important for any development activities in the country. Therefore, they should carry out candidly. In addition, Dasho affectionately reminded them to be careful while surveying people at places.
