The Hon’ble Opposition Leader, Dasho Pema Chewang, along with Dasho Neten Wangchuk (Mongar MP), Dasho Tshering Penjor (Deowathang-Gomdar MP), and officials from the Department of Tourism (DoT), visited Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag and held a tourism stakeholder meeting.
The meeting served as a platform to review the current state of tourism within the Dzongkhag while discussing its inherent potential and existing challenges. Department of Tourism officials presented an overview of tourism performance, regional development initiatives, and future strategic programs. Simultaneously, the Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag administration shared key insights into local conditions and outlined a strategic roadmap for the region.
The session concluded with an open discussion, providing stakeholders the opportunity to voice concerns, offer recommendations, and explore potential support avenues from the Department of Tourism.
